Well after another long break, I think I am back in the blogging mood again! With baby Stella's arrival 10 days away, it was got me thinking about things I want to capture while she is small.

There have been so many things that have gone on since I last post, I'll just post a few of the highlights. Except more updates once the baby gets here!!

Happy Halloween!

TRICK OR TREAT! Tonight was Halloween and we went over to a friends neighborhood so we could hit several houses close together! We had 2 Thomas the trains and 2 fairies and a horse, cow and chick! Jack wasn't sure about it at first but he finally caught on that if he wanted candy, this is what you do! He never did understand why we didn't go inside after they answered the door but that is a little confusing. We had a great time with our friends, thanks you so much for inviting us!

Yo Gabba Gabba!

This has been Yo Gabba Gabba weekend! If you don't know what that is, its a kids show. Kind of an updated version of Sesame Street and Jack LOVES it! They were in town this weekend and we had to go see them! We went to the aquarium on Friday to meet them and take pictures and today we went to the Fox Theater to see the show. It was great, I think Matt and I enjoyed as much as Jack...maybe more!;-) We met up with some our friends Stacy, Brain and Blake, who were there as well. We got to see the kids names on the stage too! So much fun, cant wait to do more stuff like this with Jack!

Trunk or Treat

We had trunk or treat with our moms group last night. It was Jack's first experience with the whole process. Last year we went but he was still too young to do anything. He was not interested at all in the candy rather the stage the could run around on and play with the big kids! Mommy made sure we got some candy... for Jack of course! ;-)

Pumpkin Patch in Jackson

Last week we went to visit CC and Granddaddy for a few days in Jackson, Tn. The weather was great so we did as much outside as we could. There was a farm not too far that had hay rides, mazes and a pumpkin patch! We played with our cousins and saw our Great Grandparents. It was a fun packed trip and we can't wait to go back for Thanksgiving!

North Ga. Fair

Yesterday we had PERFECT weather here and decided to go to the North Georgia Fair. We go there early before it got too crowded. It was great! They had a petting zoo, a tiger show and elephants too. There were tons of ride for little guys like Jack so he rode his first ride all by himself!!! I thought he might be a little scared but no he loved it! We all had a great time!

1st Hair Cut

Today was a big day, Jack had his first hair cut. He still doesn't have a ton of hair but we needed a trim before school pictures this week ( Yes, 1 years old have a year book)! We have a great place by our house called pigtails and crewcuts. They are great with kids! Plus they have really fun chairs. Jack wanted to sit in the firetruck of course. He was already loosing his baby face but now he is for sure a big boy!! Whats next?? Driving a car??

My dad has been waiting for this day since I told him we were having a boy! My parents kept Jack for this weekend and got to play golf with Poppy! He loved it of course. Who wouldn't if you could just throw the ball in the hole! ;-) They road in golf cart and Jack got the drive which he is obsessed with right now. They had a fun time together. I'm sure this is just the first of many more trips to the golf course with poppy!

1st Day of Pre-school

Jack had his first day on pre school this past Tuesday. We dropped him off and he walked right in and that was the end of that! He had a ball! So much so that my hopes of a 4 hour nap when we got home were crushed. He was too fired up for any kind of nap for at least an hour afterwards. I'm sure that will change...right??

Last week Jack went to meet his teachers, Mrs. Celi and Mrs. Stephanie, and to check out his classroom. We also got to meet some of the other kids that will be in his class. Their class is called the Little Bears so everything has bears on it! Jack loved it! He found all the trucks and cars within 2 mins of getting there and surrounded himself with them! I know he will have tons of fun here and make some great friends!

So I didn't intend to take the summer off from blogging (Maybe I should say I did, it sounds better than I was just lazy!). We did a ton of fun things over the summer but the most recent development is Jack now walking!!!! He started a couple of weeks ago taking a few step and now he wants to walk everywhere! Still not a pro but his physical therapist said she only thinks he'll need to be in PT for about another month or so! So now we are gearing up for the fall. Jack starts pre-school in a couple of week and he (and his mommy) are very excited about it. Jack has never been afraid to leave me so I know he will love it. Here are a few pics and video from our new favorite purchase...the backpack!

I have been so bad about updating the blog lately. Maybe that is because we have been on the go so much these days! Anyway, a couple of weeks ago we went to the beach with my parents. I was a great trip! Jack loved the beach and the pool! We all got the relax and play with Jack! Our last night we did end up in the emergency room with Jack. He had a 103.5 fever which turned out to be strep throat. Poor Baby! He was a trooper as usual. Can't wait for our next trip!

Most of you know that Jack has been in physical therapy for a little over 3 months now. After several test right before Christmas, we determined that Jack has some gross motor skill delays and mild hypotonia. Which means that he need some help building his muscles. We started PT right after his birthday. He could not sit up on his own let alone crawl. He has done extremely well! He was sitting up after only 2 sessions and crawling after about a month in therapy. His therapist, Durga, is great! She pushes him (which is what he needs) yet is so kind all at once. Lately Durga has really kicked it up a notch to get Jacks walking underway. He gets on the treadmill, does the leg press machine and practices holding himself up. Today I took some pictures of his session. Matt has not been able to go with us before so I wanted him to see what he does. I'm not sure we want to remember all of this but it is part of our life. It will be fun to look at later when hes a track star! I posted a couple of videos with the least amount of protest. Just like his mommy, Jack is not a fan of working out!!

This week we have had 2 Easter Egg Hunts! The first one was with the kids in my moms group. I didn't get any pictures of the other kids but they were every where!! Jack found one egg and seemed to be happy with that. But then, his buddy Evan left his basket next to Jack and he took all his eggs, one by one! It was really cute. The second one was from our neighborhood egg hunt. He was still satisfied with finding just one egg but mommy found him another one. The weather was perfect and we both had so much fun! Hope it stays this way through the weekend!

Naked Spaghetti Night

Jack loves loves loves spaghetti! Anything with tomato sauce really. He likes to feed himself so we strip down to our huggies and let him at it! Its just easier than trying to get stains out of his clothes. With his picky choices of food lately, Naked Spaghetti Night has become a weekly tradition in our house now.

This weekend, Matt's parents came to visit for a few days. It rained almost the entire time they were here but we made the most out of it. Carol and I took Jack to the aquarium, it was his first time. He loves the fish tank at the doctors office but he LOVED this! He could have stay forever or at least until nap time! The next day in cleared up enough to do lunch at one of the local airports. It was our first time there and it was so much fun! You'll notice it was hard to get Jack to face the camera for a picture. He was much more interested in the planes landing and taking off. I was pretty cool, I think it will be a regular spot for us. They even have a playground! What a great idea! Way to go Peachtree-Dekalb Airport! We have a great visit and hope we can see them again soon!

This week we had 2 play dates. Today, our buddy Evan came over to play. He is 6 months older than Jack but they play great together. Even rolling around and wrestling...so cute! Yesterday, Jack had a play date with his girls. His friend Karcyn and twins Hadley and Addison came over to play. They are all about the same age and its so much fun to watch them interact with each other. We are so lucky to have such great friends and great mommies to hang out with!

We had a great Valentine's Day. We went to church, lunch and then to our friends the Tidwell's. Jack and Beau are hanging out sharing snacks. It was a good day.

Snow Day!!

Yesterday we got about 3 inches of snow! The second time in about a month which is a lot for us! The first picture is from yesterday when Jack and I went out while it was snowing. He just giggled and looked around (he is a very inquisitive little boy). Then today when we all got up, we went out and Matt made a snowman for Jack. We put him down in the snow for a second but he didn't like it so much. Cant wait until he can run around in it next year!

I can't believe today is Jack's first birthday! It really does fly by. We are having a party on Saturday but we wanted to do something today too. Matt had to go out out town today so we got up early and celebrated. The boy is a fan of chocolate for sure!!! Happy Birthday Buddy!!

This year we stayed home for New Years. The first time in about 20 years for Matt and I and it was great! Matt and Jack watched the Vols in the Chick-fil-a bowl and I made a cake (not part of my new years resolution!). Then we took our first family picture of 2010 on New Years morning! 2009 was such a great year for us! Can't wait to see what 2010 has in store!

Oh what fun Christmas was this year!! Jack had so much fun but I think his parents had more fun! We stared Christmas Eve morning at home and did 'Santa'. Then we went down to my parent that night. We have a tradition that we all get the same pjs as our Christmas Eve present and then have breakfast in them on Christmas morning. Mom got an extra pair and made some for Jack! I was so cute! Then later Christmas day, we drove to Jackson and visited Matt's family for a ouple of days. Since we dont make it there that often , it is always nice to see everyone. I cant remember what we did for Christmas before Jack! It is so much fun now that he is a part of our lives!

This past weekend we flew down to Vero Beach to spend some time with Matt's cousins. His aunt and uncle were in town as well so we got to see everyone. More importantly, they all got to meet Jack!! He was on his best behavior which was a good thing since his cousin and his wife are excepting their first child this spring. Jack laid on the charm pretty thick, making everyone laugh. Although we didn't get a chance to hit the water, it was a great relaxing trip. We always have fun with them. Can't wait to get together again with the little guys!

SO we have been celebrating for a few days. We first had a trunk or treat party with my moms group. It was so much fun and the weather was perfect!! Jack was a pony and I went as a cowgirl. Then on Halloween morning, we went to gymboree and played with our friends there. I had a pumpkin outfit I had gotten as well so he was a JACK-o-lantern. Later we went to our friends Tony and Robyn to watched the Ga/Fl game and dressed the kids up. The big kids went out but since it was cold and raining Jack and Blake stay home. We had a great first Halloween with Jack! Everything is so much fun with him!!

We just got back from Knoxville. We drove up Friday night for the Tennessee/Georgia game. To support the family team I did wear a bit of orange ( Hey...He pays the bills!). Jack and I did not go in to the game but we had fun hanging out and tailgating with our friends. Jack was just one of the guys!! Tennessee won the game by like 20 points so Matt was very happy! It was the first of many trip to Knoxville I'm sure. We all had a great time!

Anniversary Weekend

So this past week, Matt and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary. It was a busy weekend. We had a family dinner on Wednesday, our actual anniversary, at our favorite mexican place. Then, Matt was in a wedding so his mom flew down on Thursday to stay with Jack and help out. On Sunday night we were lucky enough to stay at the new St. Regis hotel here in Atlanta. My parents gave us their free night in exchange for Jack (They say they got the better end of the deal!). It was such a treat. We had a wonderful time relaxing and sleeping in. Don't know what we'd do without our parents! Thanks to all of you!!

This week we have been dog sitting for our good friends Tony and Robyn. Their dog Rocco is the best dog! Jack doesn't really remember Maddox so I was curious to see how he'd act. He LOVES him, no fear what so ever. Rocco is great with him too. He let him pull and poke and didn't even flinch. It was nice to have a dog in the house for a few days. I still think we'll wait til Jack is older before we get another one of our own.

Father's Day/ Braves Game

We have had a busy few days! Sunday we spent Father's Day with my parents and Jack got to hang out with his Poppy and daddy. It was a very nice day. We had lunch took a nap then Matt and my dad played golf. Then, tonight we took Jack to his first Braves game against the Yankees. He was PERFECT!! I mean the kid never made a peep! He just looked and watched everything! The people sitting around us were amazed so we decided to leave before things had a chance to go south!! We couldn't leave with out stopping by the seats where Matt and I first met! It was kinda sweet. Who knew throwing bottle caps could lead to such a thing!!!

Music Class

This week Jack started music class. We went with my friend Heather and he little boy, Evan, who will turn a year old next month. Jack was the youngest one but he loved it. He watched the bigger babies crawling and clapping, he was fascinated! So fascinated that he fell asleep half way threw. We'll have to work up to a whole hour of fun!!

Matt's mom was here this week to help out while Matt was out of town. We met up with my mom at the zoo (which I haven't been to in years!!). It was a perfect day, the weather was great and so was Jack. Of course at 4 months old he really didn't see much , but we had a great time! As long as you have a stroller to push, you'll fit in! We'll have to go back when he is older for sure.

Today was a beautiful day here so mom and I took Jack to the dogwood festival in piedmont park. He loved it! He was so good. I think he likes being outside. Anytime he gets fussy we can just walk outside and we are cured!! He is growing so fast! He is less and less like a baby and more like a little boy every day.

This past weekend Jack went to meet some of his family for Easter. Our first stop was to my aunt Bonnie's in Alabama. There we meet our cousins and second cousins and ate some great southern cookin'! The we drove thru Mississippi to Tennessee to see CC and Popdaddy. They were so excited!! We meet aunts and uncles and cousins and great grandmothers!! It was a busy weekend but Jack did great! Even on the 7 hour drive home! He is such an easy baby..we are going to get it with the next one I just know it!!!

At last, Jack Wilkes Emison has arrived! Sunday January 4 at 9:54am wieghing 7 pounds and 12 ounces and 22 inches long (never thought I'd have a baby under 8 lbs!). The delivery was pretty rough starting late Friday night and ending with an emergency c-section Sunday morning, but we are both doing well now. Last night was our first night home from the hospital and Jack did a good job introducing us to the world of parenthood. He made sure we saw every hour on the clock pass. We are learning everyday. He is perfect! We love him to pieces! He is going to be tall for sure. Check out those feet! They didn't fit on the foot print page at the hospital! Trying to get lots of rest this week but will update with many more pictures soon.

This weekend Matt and I went to dinner where we went for our first date and where we got engaged (hoping to also make it the place I went into labor!!). It was very nice, we had a great time. It could very well be our last date night without babysitters.

So for those of you who know me and my relationship with the kitchen know that this is a big deal! For whatever reason in the middle of the afternoon I decided I wanted to make a cake but with layers like at the bakery. So I did and it looked pretty good! I was kinda proud of myself! It didn't stay pretty long with Matt around. He had to have a piece immediately while I just wanted him to look at how good a job I did with the icing. It was very yummy! I think I'll make another...someday.

38 weeks

Ok, so the fun is over! Although I have had a great pregnancy and shouldn't complain....I'm complainin'! These last couple of weeks are rough. I have reached a new record of trips to the bathroom in a half hour period. Last week I got a stomach bug and had to go to the hospital overnight to stay hydrated. If they would have said lets just have the baby while you are here I would have been all for it! Now for Positive Time- We are getting more excited as we pack our stuff for the hospital. This little onesie is so small I can't believe that is what is one the way! His room is all ready just waiting for him. I have a doctors appointment on Christmas eve so we'll see if we are any closer to meeting our little guy. We'll keep you posted!

Atlanta Shower

Last weekend some of my friends threw me a baby shower here in Atlanta. Everything was so cute, they did a great job. The food was fantastic ( French Toast Casserole...Yum!). A lot of my closest friends were there which made it even more special. Jack got all kinds of cute stuff too. I did learn that you probably shouldn't wear a shiny dress when your 8 and half months pregnant...not the best pick, whoops! Thanks again to Loren, Rachel and Robyn for giving such a wonderful shower!

Water Aerobics

So the last few months I have been taking a water aerobics class for pregos. Not sure how much exercise we really got but it was a lot of fun meeting other moms-to-be and hearing about their experience. Being in the water feels awesome too, I highly recommend it! This is a picture from our last class a couple of weeks ago. Some of these ladies have already had their babies!!

Halloween 2008

Halloween 2008 is our last one before becoming parents so we decided to dress up and go out. We met at the Akin's before heading out. Loren went as a girl scout which is funny because she works for the boy scouts. Jim went as Matt Foley Motivational Speaker (Chris Farley from SNL). He was in character the whole night....hilarious!! Brian went as Ricky Bobby, Matt went as himself but in 1984 and of course I went as the pregnant nun (what else was going to fit over this belly!!). Even though I didn't make it long we had a lot of fun!

30 Weeks

30 weeks already and I still feel good although I am definitely pregnant! Can't move around quite like I use to. The baby moves a lot which is good unless he is under the ribs...ouch! The nursery is coming along too. I'll post some pics when the crib comes in.

Jackson Shower

This past weekend we had our first baby shower in Matt's hometown. It was so great to see everyone there. Mrs. Diane and her daughter were so sweet to give us this shower. We got all kinds of cute stuff and thankfully I knew what everything was!! Matt came to see his old friends and opened a few gifts as well. We were lucky that both our parents were able to be there too ( the guys watched football mostly but at least they were there!). Its getting close now and we are so excited!! Jack will be here before we know it!

Puerto Rico

This past weekend Matt and I went to puerto Rico for our anniversary. We had a great time. We had one full day on sun and of couple of rainy days which were perfect for napping. We checked out Old San Juan, went to nice dinners and Matt even got to watch the Vols game pool side. The flight was great too only about 3 hours. I was surprised all the perks that pregos get at the airport. I'll have to remember that in the future ( maybe stuff a pillow under my shirt if we're in a hurry!). Overall it was a great trip and probably the last one we'll have for a while.

Only 15 weeks to go!! I'm finally starting to show enough where people are starting to ask when when I'm due, What I'm having, things like that. Before I think it was still a question mark whether they should say something or point me to a weight watchers meeting. Still feeling great although now I do feel pregnant. He moves when I'm hungry, when my bladder is full and when I sleep (try to sleep) so that pretty much covers the whole day. I can't believe in a couples of months he will be here!!!!

Only 19 weeks to go, I can't believe how fast it has gone by! I am very lucky that my only symptom has been my growing waist line! Since things have been so easy, Matt and I have decided to go to Puerto Rico for our 2 year anniversary in a couple weeks (with Docs approval of course). We both love to travel so much we just had to get one more trip in before this little guy arrives.

Last weeks we found out that we are excepting a baby boy!! With all the boys on the Emison side, we were not shocked. We are just thrilled about the news and cant wait to meet him!
